Hanging

  • Easy! All of the pieces, whether the wooden rod hanging style or a framed piece, include claw hooks. Simply measure and/or mark where you'll insert small nails into the wall and pop the nails into place. Then, simply rest the claw hooks onto the nail(s). Stand back and be prepared to stare often! (Note: If the piece has an alternate hanging method not described above, it will be noted in the items description.)

  • Although the pieces are carefully packaged and shipped, fabric does crease! If there are hard creases that don't disappear on their own with time, press with an iron on the Cotton setting.

  • I try to snip any loose threads, but they are sneaky and can appear with time. Simply snip them off carefully with a scissors.

Materials & Quilting

  • Fabric: All pieces are made with superior quality, 100% premium cotton fabric. The fabric is dip-dyed using a unique process which is environmentally safe and results in brilliant, vibrant colors. Colors will not fade or bleed.

    Batting: Sustainable bamboo

Thread: 100% Egyptian cotton, grown in the MAKO region of Egypt on the river Nile.

    Quilting:

All quilting is ¼” straight lines, quilted on the lovely machine you see here!

  • I quilt each piece on my domestic sewing machine via straight-line quilting. (Typically, the lines are 1/4" or 1/2" apart.) This style of quilting is modern, helps the piece hang flat, and provides a gorgeous texture.

  • All wood frames and hangers are made by my husband, a master carpenter!

  • Although we use a variety of wood, black walnut and maple tend to be the most popular.

Care

  • Easy! Simply dust the piece regularly using a feather duster, lint brush or vacuum cleaner.

  • It's best to spot clean your wall quilt.

Should you need to launder the entire wall quilt, it is possible, provided your piece is not framed in wood, does not have features such as leather straps, rivets, Velcro, etc. Please note that if laundered, the overall texture will change. This is due to the shrinkage of the batting. To launder, use cold water and the gentle setting on your washing machine. To dry, either air dry or use a low or no heat setting. After it's dry, you can press it with an iron using the cotton heat setting.
